Culture, Recreation & Meaningful Participation
Creating Opportunities to Learn, Participate and Belong
At KANAV Foundation, we believe that a meaningful life goes beyond residential care. Adults with intellectual disabilities need opportunities to participate, express themselves, develop skills, enjoy recreation and build meaningful connections with the people and community around them.
KANAV’s activities are designed to encourage participation, confidence, creativity and social interaction while respecting each resident’s individual abilities and interests.
Key Initiatives
Creative & Cultural Activities
Residents are encouraged to participate in activities such as celebrations, music, art, creative sessions and other cultural experiences. These activities provide opportunities for self-expression, enjoyment and social interaction.
Sports & Recreational Activities
Recreation and physical activities are an important part of everyday life. KANAV encourages suitable sports, games and recreational activities that promote participation, confidence, physical well-being and teamwork.
Educational & Skill Development
This initiative teaches values of self-worth, equality, and respect through arts-based education, digital storytelling, and interactive workshops. Using videos, music, blogs, and podcasts, VEERA encourages social responsibility and a commitment to humanity.
Community Inclusion
KANAV works towards creating opportunities for residents to participate in community activities and interact with people beyond the residential centre. These experiences help build social connections, confidence and a sense of belonging.
